Brazilian scientists have captured images of the exact moment when the SARS-COV-2 virus infects a cell, the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the largest medical research center in Latin America, reported on 08 April 2020. The photographs were taken with a transmission electron microscope during a study on the viral replication of SARS-CoV-2 and show in detail the contamination process of a cell, according to a statement from Fiocruz.
